In addition to Givat Haviva’s Annual Shared Society Conference, The Center for a Shared Society at Givat Haviva hosts additional conferences directly advancing the cause of shared society in Israel, expanding public exposure to relevant ideas and contributing to the development of the public and academic discourse. Among these:
The Women Leading Social Change Conference at Givat Haviva features prominent Jewish and Arab women spearheading women’s political and economic empowerment. The aim of the conference is to offer a platform for the growing nucleus of pioneering women leaders, Arab and Jewish, to have their voices heard in the media and to share their ideas and experience, encouraging the development of female leadership in Israeli society. Last year, the second annual Women Leading Social Change Conference took place on December 12, 2017. Preparations are underway for the third annual Women Leading Social Change Conference, to be held December 12, 2018.
Givat Haviva hosted the Arab-Jewish Index Conference on Nov. 23, 2015. The Index of Arab-Jewish Relations in Israel, produced by Professor Sammy Smooha since 2003, examines the attitudes of Arab and Jewish citizens towards each other and towards the state. Read the conference summary.
