Givat Haviva Institute
Institute for Arabic Studies
The Institute for Arabic Studies was established at Givat Haviva in 1963 to teach Arabic language and culture with the aim of bringing Israel's Arab and Jewish populations into closer contact.
The Institute offers day and evening classes for youth and adults to study spoken and literary Arabic. The primary course runs for 5 months, 6 days per week. Less intensive courses are offered one day or evening per week.
The Institute also offers:
- Enrichment Days for high school students, on the topics of Arabic culture and language;
- A year-long Arabic course for teachers on sabbatical;
- An intensive 3-week Arabic course in the summer.
