Givat Haviva Institute

Jewish Arab Center for Peace

The Jewish-Arab Center for Peace at Givat Haviva was established in 1963 to bring Jews and Arabs in Israel closer and to educate for mutual understanding and partnership. Using a variety of creative working models, the Center develops formal and informal programs that bridge the gaps in the fields of Jewish-Arab relations and promote greater understanding between different groups in Israeli society.

Programs include empowerment seminars for Jewish and Arab women and for municipal leaders; dialogue and encounter groups; inter-organizational partnerships; educational curricula and research; joint Jewish-Arab athletic and arts programs for youth (soccer camps, sailing teams, photography project).

The Center believes that through the cultivation of social and cultural, regional peace and reconciliation can be achieved.

The Jewish-Arab Center for Peace at Givat Haviva has a staff of 20 individuals, Arab and Jewish, who annually serve more than 15,000 students, teachers, community professionals and laypersons.
